About the role
The Deputy Safety Advisor works with the Safety Advisor (SA) to fulfill INSO’s core mission of helping NGOs in a given region understand the context and mitigate risks. The Deputy Safety Advisor participates in information gathering and data entry, analysis and reporting, crisis management support, and networking with various stakeholders. They assist the advisor in ensuring INSO’s services remain relevant and aligned with the evolving needs of field partners (proximity principle). Additionally, this role supports the advisor in managing a local information network and oversees the team/office in the advisor’s absence.
Responsibilities
- Support the Safety Advisor in delivering INSO’s mission to NGOs in the region.
- Participate in information collection, data entry, analysis, and reporting.
- Assist in crisis management and provide support to NGOs during emergencies.
- Engage in networking with stakeholders to maintain situational awareness.
- Ensure INSO’s services adapt to the changing needs of partners (proximity principle).
- Manage the local information network and oversee the team/office in the advisor’s absence.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the hierarchy.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in humanitarian access, NGO work, or project management.
- Experience in team/project management.
- Proficiency in context-relevant languages.
- Proven experience in drafting situational reports and briefings.
- Experience in crisis management and NGO support.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and maintain high engagement.
