The Insider Threat Insights Expert role is offered by a partner company who manages all applications and next steps. About the role
You will collaborate with cybersecurity, compliance, privacy, legal, and risk teams to establish effective frameworks and controls. This role combines analytical expertise, investigative understanding, and governance experience within a highly collaborative environment. You will play a key role in improving risk identification, investigation quality, and program maturity.
Responsibilities
- Create analytical frameworks, governance standards, and operational controls that enhance risk management capabilities.
- Develop and maintain insider threat risk models, scoring methodologies, and risk indicators to identify, prioritize, and escalate potential risks.
- Partner with risk, compliance, privacy, legal, cybersecurity, and other stakeholders to align insider threat activities with enterprise risk management frameworks.
- Establish and maintain investigative governance standards, including case intake criteria, prioritization methods, escalation processes, and documentation requirements.
- Conduct quality assurance reviews of investigations to ensure consistency, defensibility, compliance with standards, and continuous improvement.
- Create and maintain metrics, dashboards, and reporting frameworks to measure investigative effectiveness, case quality, program maturity, and emerging risk trends.
- Translate operational and business risks into measurable indicators, controls, and governance practices that support informed decision-making.
- Support the enhancement of insider threat detection and investigation processes through data-driven recommendations and operational improvements.
- Contribute to the ongoing maturity of risk programs by identifying opportunities to strengthen controls, workflows, and stakeholder collaboration.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in insider threat, cybersecurity, fraud, investigations, compliance, risk management, or related analytical fields.
- Experience developing risk frameworks, scoring methodologies, analytical frameworks, or indicators used to identify and prioritize risk.
- Experience supporting governance, quality assurance, audit, compliance, or operational oversight activities within a risk-focused environment.
- Strong understanding of investigative processes, cybersecurity practices, enterprise risk management, and control frameworks.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including Risk, Compliance, Privacy, Legal, Human Resources, and Security stakeholders.
- Ability to analyze complex information, identify patterns, and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Familiarity with insider threat, employee risk, fraud investigations, cybersecurity operations, or related programs is preferred.
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and operate effectively in a remote environment.
