Insider Threat Analyst
About the role
State Street seeks to recruit an Insider Threat Analyst responsible for a variety of functions within the insider threat program at State Street. This team will work with the core Global Cyber Security teams, Global Security, Enterprise Continuity Services, and infrastructure teams to analyze, remediate, and develop new controls related to insider threats.
Responsibilities
- Support the review and analysis of potential insider threat events and investigations.
- Collect, aggregate, and analyze data from multiple sources to identify potential risk indicators.
- Aid senior analysts and investigative partners in conducting reviews of insider threat cases.
- Document findings and maintain investigative records in accordance with established procedures.
- Prepare reports, summaries, and briefing materials for internal stakeholders.
- Support the development and maintenance of investigative playbooks, procedures, and documentation.
- Participate in lessons-learned activities and continuous improvement efforts.
- Escalate identified risks and concerns to senior analysts and program leadership as appropriate.
- Support cross-functional collaboration with Cyber Security, Human Resources, Legal, Compliance, and Global Security teams.
Qualifications
- Foundational understanding of Insider Threat principles and risk indicators.
- Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills.
- Ability to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies within large datasets.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience documenting findings and producing clear, evidence-based reports.
- Collaborative mindset and willingness to learn from senior team members.
- Familiarity with behavioral analytics, cybersecurity monitoring, or investigative processes.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Education & Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Criminal Justice, Intelligence Studies, Information Technology, Data Analytics, or a related field; equivalent experience considered.
- 2–5 years of experience in cybersecurity, investigations, intelligence analysis, fraud detection, risk management, compliance, or a related field.
- Experience working with security monitoring, case management, or ticketing systems preferred.
- Exposure to insider threat, behavioral analytics, digital investigations, or cyber threat detection tools preferred.
- Understanding of investigative methodologies, evidence handling, and report writing preferred.
- Relevant industry certifications (Security+, GIAC, Insider Threat Program certifications, Cybersecurity certifications, etc.) are a plus.
Pay
$90,000 - $157,500 Annual
