Inside Sales Representative - Hauppauge, NY

About the role

As a member of our team, you’ll handle phone-in customers with courtesy, use your product and technical knowledge to assist with product selection, and provide written quotations that include terms and delivery methods. You’ll prepare customer sales orders, confirm payment terms, ensure timely delivery of materials, and resolve order issues by collaborating with vendors and internal departments. You’ll also work toward monthly sales and gross-margin goals, encourage customers to use digital tools, and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Handle phone-in customers with pleasant and courteous etiquette
• Utilize product and technical knowledge to assist customers with product selection
• Provide customers with written quotations including terms and delivery method
• Prepare customer sale orders and confirm payment terms/method
• Ensure timely delivery of materials to customers
• Resolve order issues by collaborating with external vendors and internal departments
• Reach monthly goals in sales and gross margin
• Encourage the use of digital tools across the customer base
• Multi-task and continually prioritize tasks throughout the day

Requirements

• Sales experience and/or electrical knowledge preferred
• Strong customer service skills and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to effectively communicate information and present solutions to customers
• Ability to speak, read, and write proficiently in English
• Strong mathematics, verbal, and written communication skills
• Ability to operate computers and relevant software
• Ability to prioritize needs in a fast-paced environment

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

• Ability to sit for much of the assigned shift while using phones and computers
• Ability to walk between work area, counter, and warehouse throughout the day
• Ability to lift, push, and pull materials and objects weighing up to 50 lbs., and heavier weights with proper equipment
• Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and climb to perform various duties

This job is performed primarily in light industrial and office environments.

Pay

Rate starts at $25/hr and increases with applicable experience.
