Inside Sales Representative
Position Overview
Inside Sales Representatives play a crucial role in promoting and selling construction and environmental-related products, materials, and services. Your primary focus will be on building strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs, and providing effective solutions to drive sales.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Respond to customer inquiries in person, by phone and email with exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Identify new business opportunities and potential accounts. Work with customers to understand their requirements and to recommend solutions or alternatives to close the sale. When necessary, consult with the Technical Sales team.
- Understand product and accessory components as well as product and service pricing strategies to accurately prepare quotes.
- Develop and maintain relationships with customers. Build rapport, stay updated on new products and product advancements and technical specifications. Monitor sales trends and communicate trends with the Technical Sales team.
- Verify information on customer accounts, updating and entering necessary data into our CRM system.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth order processing and delivery. Complete paperwork, schedule delivery, continually communicate with customer.
- Work with vendors to ensure order completion; create and foster vendor relationships.
- Track inventory usage and monitor stock levels to ensure anticipated customer supply needs are met. Order materials accordingly.
- Any other duties that may be needed to help drive our overall performance, customer service and business needs.
Qualifications
- 5+ years in technical sales, preferably in the construction industry.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or work experience in the construction industry in a sales capacity.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to understand client issues, problem solving to provide effective solutions and achieve results.
- Familiarity with construction materials, environmental soil, erosion and water management issues and industry practices.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds at times.
