Position Summary
The Inside Sales Representative will assist walk-in and phone customers with their orders and returns while building relationships and providing excellent customer service.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Serve counter and phone customers with speed, efficiency, courtesy, and professionalism.
- Communicate basic product and technology information to customers.
- Communicate with warehouse personnel as needed for order pick up and accept payments.
- Communicate with warehouse personnel to ensure the display area is stocked and well maintained.
- Process purchase orders, credit memos, warranty returns and other paperwork on a timely basis.
- Ashist customers to locate will call orders.
- Perform AHIR and model number lookups.
- Keep customers current on sales promotions and programs.
- Attend and participate in all scheduled events, including sales meetings, training classes and other business-related gatherings.
- Build positive relationships with customers by providing professional assistance to improve customer's profit.
- Enhance Berkheimer relationships and image with vendors and current and prospective customers.
Minimum Qualifications
- Candidate must possess excellent sales and customer service skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team and learn the products, terminology, and general use of HVAC equipment.
- Data entry skills required.
- Basic knowledge of product lines and sufficient knowledge of the computer system to process basic customer transactions.
- Minimum of 2 years sales or customer service experience or prior industry/field experience or education.
- Internal candidates should be able to reach this level with 6 months to 1 year of GWB experience.
- Completion of the HARDI Counter Specialist Certification Level 1 & 2 or equivalent.
Physical Demands
- Will be required to stand for moderate periods of time.
- Prolonged period of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients.
- Consistently follows procedures and adheres to standards.
- Must be able to understand and interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written and oral form and follow directions.
- Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Understand product codes and terminology.
- Calculate and count.
- Analyze facts and determine next course of action.
Working Conditions
- Must work as part of a team in an open office area with noise and distractions.
- May go into the warehouse which may be hot or cold depending on the outdoor temperature.
