Position Summary

The Inside Sales Representative supports commercial execution and customer engagement across assigned accounts within a chemical manufacturing environment. This role partners closely with Outside Sales, Supply Chain, Customer Service, Product & Application Development (P&AD), Operations, and Finance to manage quoting, pricing, forecasting, and customer communication.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sales & Account Support
    • Support assigned customer accounts by responding to inquiries and preparing quotations
    • Partner with Outside Sales on pipeline tracking and customer engagement activities
    • Aid in pricing administration and basic margin tracking
    • Maintain communication with customers regarding product availability and timelines
  • Order Alignment & Support
    • Partner with Customer Service and Supply Chain to support order visibility and alignment
    • Monitor open orders, shipments, and backorders; communicate updates to customers and internal teams
    • Provide basic forecast input based on customer demand trends
    • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Standard Workflow (SAP/CRM-Aligned)
    • Receive customer inquiries or RFQs
    • Coordinate with internal teams to confirm product specifications and timing
    • Support pricing alignment with Sales/Commercial leadership
    • Generate and submit quotations
    • Maintain and update pricing in SAP (ECC/S4HANA) with guidance
    • Track order progress and assist in resolving service, pricing, or logistics issues
    • Maintain CRM updates and reporting cadence

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Chemistry, Engineering, or related field preferred
  • 0–3 years of experience in inside sales, customer service, or commercial support (internships/co-ops applicable)
  • Interest in chemical manufacturing or industrial environments
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
