Inside Sales Representative

About the role

The Inside Sales Representative - Lumber position at Builders FirstSource is a great opportunity for someone looking to leverage their sales experience to help customers find the right building materials for their projects. This role requires a strong understanding of company products, procedures, and practices, as well as excellent customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides customer service primarily to retail customers, via walk-in, telephone or email, including assisting with product selection, pricing, availability, refunds/exchanges.
• Engages in selling company products/services and related items.
• Enters orders into system and schedules delivery of products.
• Plans and paces own work efficiency in order to meet daily, weekly, project, or team related productivity goals.
• Participates in coordinating and conducting customer workshops.
• Handles and resolves simple customer complaints and forwards more complex issues to more senior staff for resolution.
• Assists with store housekeeping, signage, stocking, inventory control, and other related activities.
• Understands and observes all safety procedures and practices in order to prevent injury to self or co-workers; attends periodic safety meetings as required; may recommend changes to improve safety procedures.

Requirements

• High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and six (6) months sales-related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds frequently and on occasion up to 80 pounds.
• Standing or walking for 80% of the day. Stooping and kneeling throughout the day.
• Occasionally uses hand tools, saws, forklift, pallet jack to assist customers.
• Reaching-extending the hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.

Schedule

This position is full-time and works Monday through Friday, typically from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
