Inside Sales Representative
About the role
The Inside Sales Representative will manage and grow Actylis' full portfolio of excipients, APIs, and intermediates at new and existing customers, expanding and advancing the sales pipeline with assigned customers. They will build strong relationships with customers, identify new sales opportunities, and participate in customer Request for Quote (RFQ) processes.
Responsibilities
- Manage and grow the company's portfolio within established accounts while developing new business opportunities with new customers.
- Expand and advance the sales pipeline by working closely with R&D, business development, purchasing, and operations teams.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and new customers, ensuring long-term partnerships.
- Identify and qualify new sales opportunities, leveraging market insights and customer interactions.
- Customer Engagement:
- Conduct regular virtual meetings and occasional face-to-face meetings with customers and document interactions in the CRM system.
- Understand customer needs (both explicit and implicit) and translate them into actionable business strategies.
- Act as the primary point of contact between clients and internal teams, including external partners.
- Sales Process:
- Participate in customer Request for Quote (RFQ) processes and provide product quotations and pricing strategies.
- Negotiate pricing and contracts while ensuring profitability per quote.
- Address and resolve customer issues and complaints with support from Customer Service, Logistics, and Quality teams.
- Submit and maintain an accurate annual sales budget per account.
- Manage opportunity pipelines and sales forecasts within the CRM system.
- Strategic Planning:
- Provide monthly sales reports, tracking sales and gross profit against budget targets.
- Maintain an up-to-date pipeline of opportunities, highlighting progress and challenges.
- Develop and execute an annual territory plan outlining key accounts, objectives, and strategic initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmaceutical Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related scientific disciplines. Can also consider a business degree with a minor in science.
- Preference for 1 to 2 years’ experience in sales/business development of APIs, excipients, and intermediates to pharmaceutical manufacturers or equivalent functional ingredient sales in B2B environment.
- Preference for proven results of delivering client solutions and meeting sales goals.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Proficient use of Teams and SharePoint.
- Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently, project management skills.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Must demonstrate excellent communication, critical thinking, and organizational skills.
- Must be highly detail-oriented and organized, able to work both independently and as a team player with a positive attitude.
- Preference for comfort in technical/scientific aspects of pharmaceutical and knowledge of pharmaceutical Quality & Regulatory requirements.

- Self-motivated and self-directed, eager to expand the company with new sales.
- Able to analyze data and sales statistics and translate results into solutions.

Pay
The salary range for the position of Inside Sales Representative is $60,000 - $80,000 per year.
