Inside Sales Representative responsible for interfacing directly with distributors and customers via telephone and electronic communication to provide support, process orders, resolve issues, and build long-term customer relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Interface directly with distributors and customers via telephone or electronic means, providing prompt and friendly service to build and maintain customer loyalty.
  • Maintain detailed records of customer interactions, inquiries, comments, and complaints, ensuring proper follow-up actions and maintaining a telephone log.
  • Accurately process incoming orders by verifying part/model numbers, pricing, discounts, and contract terms; send order acknowledgments via fax or email.
  • Monitor and check the status of older and back-ordered items upon customer request.
  • Handle and resolve customer complaints in a timely and professional manner.
  • Stage orders for shipping and prepare the necessary shipment documentation, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
  • Provide customers with product pricing, delivery information, and related documentation.
  • Learn and understand the technical features and benefits of products; communicate product specifications effectively to customers.
  • Set up new customer accounts as needed and assist with maintaining distributor/customer databases.
  • Communicate and coordinate with outside sales reps, production, technical personnel, engineering, and other departments to meet customer needs and delivery requests.
  • Assist with material return requests and ensure appropriate handling.
  • Actively participate in training to learn technical information and develop basic product knowledge.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Company.

Requirements

  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong active listening abilities.
  • Proven ability to analyze and solve problems independently and collaboratively.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well within a team and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Knowledge of basic customer service principles and practices.
  • Familiarity with PC-based applications, including Microsoft Office Suite and Google platforms.
  • Ability to learn and apply technical product knowledge.
  • Strong work ethic, flexibility, and a willingness to take on additional responsibilities as needed.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Prior experience in sales, customer service, or a related field is a plus.

Schedule

  • Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
  • Onsite sales team environment.
  • Opportunities to participate in trade shows a few times a year.

Working Conditions

  • Office environment involving prolonged periods of sitting and computer use.
  • May occasionally be required to lift or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Occasional interaction with production areas and warehouse environments, where personal protective equipment (PPE) may be necessary.
