Job Summary
The Inside Sales Manager is responsible for leading and supporting the inside sales team to drive customer satisfaction, process efficiency, and revenue growth. This role oversees the day-to-day activities of the inside sales team, ensuring timely and accurate quoting, order processing, and customer communication. The Inside Sales Manager partners cross-functionally with field sales, engineering, production, and customer service to align priorities, remove barriers, and achieve business objectives. The role contributes to sales planning, forecasting, and continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring scalable and efficient operations.
Responsibilities
- Manage and develop a team of inside sales representatives, driving accountability for performance, productivity, and quality outcomes.
- Oversee and continuously improve the quoting and order entry process to ensure accuracy and responsiveness.
- Partner cross-functionally with outside sales, engineering, and production to align on customer needs and order requirements.
- Monitor, analyze, and report on sales and operational metrics, translating insights into actionable improvements and performance plans.
- Handle escalated customer inquiries or issues with professionalism and urgency.
- Identify, implement, and standardize process improvements and tools to increase efficiency and reduce errors.
- Lead onboarding, training, and ongoing development programs to strengthen team capability.
- Support forecasting and sales planning activities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts and internal stakeholders to support business objectives.
- Promote a customer-first culture throughout the sales support process.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in inside sales or sales support, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role, with demonstrated experience leading teams and driving performance outcomes.
- Strong knowledge of CRM and ERP systems.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Proven ability to manage priorities, drive execution, and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in electrical manufacturing or technical sales environment.
- Familiarity with transformer products and industry terminology.
- Experience supporting cross-functional business processes and operational improvements.
