About the role
A well-established, rapidly growing construction supply company is seeking a customer-focused Counter Sales / Customer Service Representative to join its team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys building customer relationships, supporting outside sales efforts, and working in a fast-paced environment where every day is different.
Responsibilities
- Provide outstanding customer service to walk-in, phone, and email customers
- Prepare quotes, enter orders, and process customer payments
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers by understanding their needs and recommending appropriate products
- Support outside sales representatives with quote preparation, order entry, product research, and submittal documentation
- Aid in showroom merchandising by stocking and organizing inventory displays
- Resolve customer concerns professionally and efficiently
- Navigate ERP systems and Microsoft Office to manage customer information and orders
- Contribute to a collaborative, team-oriented environment while helping achieve sales and service goals
Requirements
- Previous customer service, inside sales, or account management experience
- Experience within the construction, building materials, concrete, or industrial supply industry is highly preferred
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Self-motivated, organized, and able to prioritize multiple tasks
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
- Able to resolve customer issues with professionalism and urgency
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience using ERP systems
- A positive attitude and strong team-first mentality
