Inside Sales
Essential Functions/Duties
- Responds to customers’ needs, consistent with quality, culture, and business practices.
- Receive telephone requests for price quotations, purchase orders, order changes, adjustments, and cancellations directly from customers, original equipment manufacturers, and distributors.
- Achieve and maintain rapport with customers and work to give them the best possible service.
- Use a computer to retrieve customer information, stock status information, the status of purchase orders, and to make changes on customer purchase orders.
- Ensure that correct codes are used for retrieving and inputting information.
- Follow up on inquiries by checking order status on computer for delivery information.
- Work closely with purchasing/expeditor regarding deliveries of scheduled shipments.
- Make price quotations immediately by phone on stock items.
- Prepare forms, requests for quote (RFQ) on items not in stock and return quotations to customers ensuring their requirements are met.
- Quote prices, terms, delivery dates based on product knowledge/company forecasts and inventory.
- Obtain quotes from Approved Vendors (distributors and manufacturers) in order to meet customer's quality and delivery requirements.
- Identify and develop new and existing marketing opportunities through mailings, research, cold calling and trade show leads.
- Target sales by working with the outside representative, excess inventory reports and inactive/lower activity accounts.
About the Role
Support the team by aggressively prospecting and developing accounts, generating sales quotes, and handling customer inquiries. In addition to these duties, the Inside Sales Representative will make cold and warm calls for new market initiatives while becoming technically knowledgeable about the company’s products and vendors.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field preferred. Previous sales experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment is preferred.
Qualifications
Strong communication skills, including verbal and written. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with CRM software is a plus.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines. Proficient in using computers and software applications.
