Inside Sales Account Manager - GCG Data Center Solutions
About the role
GCG is currently growing a specialized team focused on supporting data center customers and partners as they plan, source, and deploy critical infrastructure. This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of a team that is at the forefront of expanding our presence in the Data Center market, ensuring we are a trusted partner and distributor of choice for our customers.
Responsibilities
- Develop in-depth familiarity with GCG Data Center solutions to provide best-in-class customer support and educate customers about products, applications, pricing, and availability
- Understand the market to support strategic growth plans, ensuring that annual goals are achieved
- Nurture relationships with GCG customers and suppliers to increase sales revenue as product offerings continue to expand
- Manage purchasing and coordination specifically for drop-ship orders from suppliers, ensuring that customers and stakeholders receive frequent order / shipment status updates
- Research and prospect for new business leads and expanded business opportunities within targeted markets utilizing a consultative sales approach that facilitates return business
- Create and execute a plan to hit year over year revenue growth targets
- Negotiate contract terms and pricing agreements with customers and vendors as the book of business steadily grows
- Demonstrate all aspects of the sales process including cold calling and prospecting, handling objections, closing, and follow-up
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business management, marketing, engineering, or any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
- Demonstrated track record of success with 5 years of business-to-business inside sales experience, preferably within the Data Center space
- Exemplary written and verbal communication skills with the proven ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced, sales-focused environment
- Strong customer service orientation and follow-up skills with the ability actively pursue new business opportunities
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Teams, Outlook, and Excel
- Previous experience with Salesforce or comparable CRM system
- Previous experience with Oracle or comparable ERP system

Pay
Competitive Annual Salary ranging from $75,000 to $85,000 per year based on relevant industry experience and eligibility for annual bonus based on company and individual performance
Schedule
This is a hybrid position requiring 3 days per week in office at our Chicago headquarters.
