Inside Machinist - Assembly - Skilled

About the role

Assemble, disassemble, troubleshoot, fit, scrape, grind, hone, install, and torque fasteners on valves, gearboxes, operators, trunks, and other mechanical components. Perform precision measurements and complete hardcopy and electronic documentation. Conduct hydrostatic and air testing of components using hand tools, portable power tools, and hydraulic torqueing equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, disassemble, and troubleshoot mechanical components
• Perform fitting, scraping, grinding, and honing
• Install and torque fasteners
• Precision measurement of parts
• Completion of hardcopy and electronic documentation
• Perform hydrostatic and air testing of components
• Use hand tools, portable power tools, and hydraulic torqueing equipment

Requirements

• High school education or GED
• 2+ years relevant technical experience
• 5+ years of previous assembly experience
• Ability to read mechanical assembly and detail drawings
• Available for any shift
• Proficiency with precision measuring tools preferred
• Successful completion of CT Department of Labor Eastern Workforce Investment Board Training Program

Skills

• Proficiency in shop mathematics
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team

Qualifications

• High school education or GED
• 2+ years relevant technical experience
• 5+ years of previous assembly experience
• Ability to read mechanical assembly and detail drawings

Pay

• Hourly Rates from $31.61 - $41.14
