Inside Machinist - Assembly - Entry Level & Semi-Skilled

About the role

In collaboration with the State of Connecticut, Electric Boat offers pre-employment training (EWIB) to get you started on learning the fundamentals of the trade.

• Assembly of valves, gearboxes, operators, trunks, and other mechanical components
• Disassembly and troubleshooting of same
• Perform fitting, scraping, grinding, and honing
• Install and torque fasteners
• Precision measurement of parts
• Completion of hardcopy and electronic documentation
• Perform hydrostatic and air testing of components
• Use hand tools, portable power tools, and hydraulic torquing equipment

Requirements

• High school education or GED or 2+ years relevant technical experience
• 0-5 years of assembly experience
• Must be available for all shifts

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to read mechanical assembly and detail drawings
• Proficiency with precision measuring tools is desired
• Candidates who have successfully completed the CT Department of Labor Eastern Workforce Investment Board Training Program
• Former automotive mechanic education or experience
• Former assembly/disassembly experience
