Inserter Operator (Hand Fulfillment) - 12HR Nights

About the role

As an Inserter Operator, you will handle all functions of inserting equipment, ensuring quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement in our direct mail operations.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and maintain inserter and associated in-line equipment, including ink jet operations.
• Follow established processes to meet quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement expectations.
• Read and follow run list instructions, sign-off, and continuity procedures.
• Perform setup of stations and packaging requirements as a one-person operation.
• Run and sort all normal jobs, including cross-over operations when starting a previously running machine.
• Complete mail sorting training/certification and train others to sort following USPS standards.
• Complete required paperwork and use timekeeping systems efficiently.
• Attend and participate in scheduled Cost Center meetings.
• Perform daily, weekly, and monthly Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) tasks.
• Ensure compliance with Nahan Lean manufacturing principles and all safety & quality policies.
• Work assigned shifts, including weekends and overtime, as required.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Previous related experience preferred (on-the-job training provided).
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot basic machine malfunctions.
• Attention to detail and ability to identify quality defects.
• Ability to read and interpret work orders and technical specifications.
• Strong computer skills.
• Proficiency in English (written and verbal).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent time management, organizational, and communication skills.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

• Operates in a manufacturing environment with moderate to loud noise levels.
• Frequently exposed to machinery, moving parts, airborne particles (e.g., paper dust), and hazardous materials or fumes (PPE may be required).
• Regularly required to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl for extended periods.
• Must lift up to 50 lbs or more at a time.
• Requires close-up vision abilities and alertness to meet deadlines.
• May be exposed to adverse weather conditions, high precarious places, or confined spaces.
• Hearing protection may be required in some work environments.

Pay

$20 per hour.

Schedule

12-hour night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM.
