We are looking for energetic, motivated individuals with a team and growth mindset to join our growing printing business. This role is ideal for those eager to learn, grow, and develop their skills.

About the role

As an Inserter Operator, you will handle all functions of inserting equipment, including setup, operation, and maintenance of the inserter and associated in-line equipment such as ink jet operations. You will follow established processes to meet quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement expectations while adhering to Nahan Lean manufacturing principles and safety policies.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and maintain inserter and in-line equipment.
  • Follow run list instructions and sign-off/continuity procedures.
  • Perform setup of stations and packaging requirements.
  • Run and sort jobs as a one-person operation, including cross-over machine operation.
  • Complete mail sorting training/certification and train others following USPS standards.
  • Complete required paperwork and use timekeeping systems efficiently.
  • Attend and participate in Cost Center meetings.
  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) tasks.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and quality policies.
  • Work assigned shifts, including weekends and overtime as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements

  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot basic machine malfunctions.
  • Attention to detail and ability to identify quality defects.
  • Ability to read and interpret work orders and technical specifications.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication (written, verbal, and listening) and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in English (written and verbal).
  • High school diploma or equivalent; previous related experience preferred.

Skills

  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 lbs or more.
  • Capability to work in a manufacturing environment with moderate to loud noise levels and exposure to machinery, moving parts, and airborne particles.

Pay

Wage range: $18 - $22 per hour, with a $2.00 shift differential for the night shift. Base pay is based on job-related skills, experience, credentials, role scope, and location. Candidates outside the posted range are encouraged to apply.

Schedule

12-hour night shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM (Purple shift).

Work Environment and Physical Demands

The role operates in a manufacturing environment with moderate to loud noise levels. Employees may be exposed to machinery, moving parts, airborne particles (including paper dust), and hazardous materials, requiring the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). The position involves:

  • Standing, walking, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling for extended periods.
  • Regularly lifting up to 50 lbs or more.
  • Using hands or fingers to handle or reach, and reaching with hands and arms.
  • Close-up vision abilities for detailed work.
  • Potential exposure to adverse weather conditions, high precarious places, and confined spaces.
