Inserter and Meter Operator

About the role

Tandem, an ISO 9001:2015 certified mail facility, offers full-service mail and fulfillment, first-class presort, and third-class mail processing. Responsibilities

• Operate the equipment at maximum efficiency while meeting the production schedule.
• Required to maintain the established Quality Control procedures.
• Maintain minimum production standards of completed product.
• Coincide with the different departments for the scheduling of all projects.
• Sort and prepare unmetered mail as necessary, report quality problems to the Production Manager.
• Operate postage machine and accounting terminal accurately.
• Record any spoilage or mistakes on the account tape for correction by billing.
• Perform quality checks on finished mail before release to MLOCR.
• Process mail efficiently to meet MLOCR cut-off time.
• Report any suspected abuse, neglect or exploitation immediately to supervisor or department head.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Comply with all standards to assure the health and safety of all individuals.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to understand and follow QC procedures.
• Good communication skills.
• Good math skills.
• Knowledge of First Class and Marketing Mail preparation standards.

Skills

• Operate automated inserters.
• Understand and follow Quality Control procedures.
• Communicate effectively.
• Perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Prepare mail according to standards.
