Inpatient Surgery Nurse

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Registered Nurse (RN) for an inpatient surgical unit.

Unit Details: 30-bed surgical unit caring for diverse patient populations with varying conditions. Nurse to patient ratio of 1:5-6. Resources include shared governance, unit educators, and charge nurses to support professional growth.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to pre- and post-surgical patients aged 18 and older in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Conduct initial assessments, develop and modify care plans, implement nursing interventions, and ensure accurate documentation.
• Delegate tasks to healthcare team members, prioritize patient safety, and respond promptly to patient needs.
• Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary teams, maintain safety standards, and promote a positive work environment.
• Use critical thinking to evaluate patient conditions, manage medications safely, and facilitate efficient admissions and discharges.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Illinois
• BLS certification within 30 days
• Over one year of nursing experience

Pay

Hourly wage ranging from $36.80 to $59.89, depending on experience and qualifications.
