Position Summary

The Inpatient Social Worker will be responsible for providing quality case management and psychotherapeutic services to patients and their families.

Responsibilities

• Develops and maintains effective working relationships with Admissions, the Business Office, Physicians, and Nursing Staff.
• Conducts psychosocial assessments to document history and identify preliminary issues for treatment in a timely manner.
• Provides groups and family process-oriented therapies as well as conducts educational groups for patients and family members.
• Participates in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings and patient safety.
• Initial discharge plan formulated and noted on psychosocial within 72 hours of admission.

Qualifications

• Education: Master's Degree in a behavioral science or equivalent master's degree in a recognized mental health field.
• Experience: Clinical and administrative experience in an inpatient and outpatient mental health setting preferred. Possess general knowledge of all areas of psychiatric and chemical dependency treatment.
• Age-Specific Competencies: Adults
• Licensure/Certification: CPR and CPI certification training provided upon hire.
• Other: Ability to relate well with treatment professionals; ability to mobilize and coordinate staff resources; skills in dealing courteously with the public and individuals within the organization and counseling centers; organizational skills; ability to keep information highly confidential; ability to meet deadlines; basic data entry skills preferred; time management skills.
• HIPAA: Has access to and adds information to the Medical Record. May only access medical record of assigned patients.
