Position Summary
Participate as an integral professional member of a multi-disciplinary team, implementing and assisting in the supervision of social service interventions to patients. Must understand facility policies to ensure that policies are adhered to. Conduct therapy groups according to the daily program schedule. Complete assessments, communicate with family members, assist with treatment plans, and participate in staffing with the treatment team as needed. Demonstrate a strong knowledge in a wide range of disorders; cognitive, emotional, developmental, social and behavioral. Perform crisis intervention, special case conferences, and communicate to outside agencies to ensure patient rights, care, and needs are met.
Education
- Preferred knowledge, skills, and/or experience required:
- Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a closely related behavioral health discipline from an accredited program required.
- Active Louisiana licensure in one of the following: PLPC, LPC, CSW, LMSW, or LCSW.
- Current CPR/BLS certification through the American Heart Association. (Will provide service or renewal if needed)
Experience
- Inpatient behavioral health, psychiatric, or correctional/forensic settings.
- Facilitating individual, group therapy.
- Crisis intervention, de-escalation, and high-acuity patients.
- Group therapy facilitation.
- Knowledge of court-ordered treatment, competency restoration, or forensic evaluations.
- Strong clinical documentation and treatment planning in an inpatient setting.
