Inpatient Rehabilitation Registered Nurse
Work Schedule: 3 days per week, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM, rotating weekends.
About the Role
As a Registered Nurse in Inpatient Rehab, your voice to influence patient care is valued and empowered at every turn—whether through open, collaborative relationships with your direct manager or more formal opportunities through hospital councils and national nursing initiatives. You'll help shape decisions that elevate both patient outcomes and the future of nursing.
You will deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in line with department requirements and state/specialty standards. Collaborating with medical providers and the care team, you will provide personalized, comprehensive, and compassionate care, following established nursing models such as "Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage." You will also act as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers, embodying the organization's vision, mission, and values to ensure an outstanding patient experience and positive clinical outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for assigned patients.
- Meet the Standards of Practice for the Rehabilitation Unit and manage all assigned personnel, supplies, and equipment.
- Participate in activities to plan, measure, assess, and improve the quality of patient care.
- Instruct patients and families regarding the disease process.
- Complete additional admission paperwork specific to the Rehabilitation Unit.
- Participate in weekly patient care conferences, as needed.
- Assume responsibility for charging the unit, as needed.
Requirements
- Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing (required).
- BSN (preferred).
- Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Texas or Multi-State Compact License (employees with RN Compact License must obtain Texas RN License within 90 days of hire date).
- Current BLS Certification (required).
- 1 year of clinical Rehab experience as a licensed RN (required). Acceptable experience includes: Rehabilitation, Med Surg, Med-Surg, Medical/Surgical, Medical-Surgical, Long-term care, LTACH, LTC, Inpatient, IP.
