Inpatient Registered Nurse - PRN
About the Role
As a Bluegrass Care Navigators' Hospice Team member, you will be part of a team providing care and support to patients and their families who choose comfort and quality of life over curative treatments for terminal illness. Care is provided where the patient calls home, including houses, apartments, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and hospitals. For patients with complex care needs, we offer inpatient care at one of our Hospice Care Centers.
The Inpatient Hospice Registered Nurse (RN) delivers skilled, professional, and compassionate nursing care to patients and their families within the inpatient hospice unit and hospital settings. This role involves assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care, including symptom management, end-of-life support, and patient/family education, in accordance with physician orders, the hospice plan of care, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies.
Schedule
Weekdays and weekends, dayshift and nightshift.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of professional (registered) nursing.
- Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse through the Kentucky Board of Nursing.
- Minimum of two (2) years of general nursing experience preferred; hospice, home health, medical-surgical, or critical care experience preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in pain management; IV therapy skills preferred.
- Demonstrates clinical competence and the ability to manage emotionally challenging situations with patients and families while respecting diverse lifestyles and beliefs.
- Maintains current CPR certification.
- Self-directed with the ability to work independently while exercising appropriate judgment.
