The position of Pharmacy Technician is open for those who want to assist Clinical Pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications.

Responsibilities

• Procure and distribute medication orders per physician request, pharmacist request, or prearranged work assignment according to established policies, procedures, and protocols
• Maintain adequate stock of medications and supplies
• Enhance the quality of care and effective operation of the department
• Maintain a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations, Trinity Health’s Organizational Integrity Program, Standards of Conduct, as well as other policies and procedures in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical, and professional behavior

Requirements

• National Pharmacy Technician Certification required
• Registered with the State of Iowa Board of Pharmacy before commencing employment
• One to three years of previous pharmacy experience (or combination college and experience) is preferred
• Able to type accurately, have basic knowledge of medical terms and abbreviations, manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination are useful in preparing or assisting with preparation of orders, must be able to demonstrate basic computer skills in a Windows environment
