Inpatient Pharmacist - AZ – Travel Contract

Job Summary

San Carlos Apache Healthcare Center is seeking an experienced Inpatient Pharmacist to join its collaborative pharmacy team serving the San Carlos Apache community. This role requires flexibility to work days, evenings, nights, weekends, and ER/Inpatient coverage as needed. The pharmacist will accurately verify and dispense medications, process controlled substances in compliance with state and federal regulations, counsel patients, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and provide clinical pharmacy services while ensuring safe and timely medication management.

Requirements

• Recent hospital inpatient pharmacy experience required
• ER/Inpatient pharmacist experience strongly preferred
• Must be flexible to work days, nights, swing shifts, weekends, and various pharmacy locations
• Strong medication therapy knowledge and clinical judgment
• Experience handling controlled substances according to policy and law
• Excellent patient counseling and communication skills
• Must be a reliable team player with a positive attitude and strong critical-thinking skills

Required Credentials

• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy and/or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)
• Certified Current Unrestricted Pharmacist license (Arizona license preferred)
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (AHA ACLS) required for inpatient/ER coverage
• American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (AHA PALS) required (may be completed on-site if needed)

• Prescriptions Filled Daily: Approximately 1,000
• Technology: ScriptPro Pharmacy Management System with SP200 Robot, RPMS Electronic Health Record (transitioning to a new EHR), Omnicell Automated Dispensing Cabinets, Carousel Medication Storage System, Kirby Lester Counting Machines
• Clinical Services: Vaccine Clinic, Warfarin Clinic, Community Outreach Programs, Pharmacy Student and Technician Preceptorships, Housing Available (No Pets Permitted on Housing Property)
