Inpatient Medical Coder - PRN

About the Role

We seek experienced inpatient coders to accurately assign diagnostic and procedural codes using ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS, abstract and sequence medical records, and ensure coding accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Audit work and address documentation and coding issues
• Maintain productivity benchmarks
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to resolve reimbursement and clinical concerns

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years inpatient coding experience, preferably at a Level I Trauma Center
• Credentialing: CCS, RHIT, or RHIA preferred
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail
• Experience with coding review feedback and computerized encoding software is advantageous
