Inpatient LPN

About the Role

The LPN (inpatient) provides practical nursing care under the supervision of a registered nurse or physician, supporting patient care across all ages.

Responsibilities

• Collect, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
• Participate in the nursing process
• Communicate with the healthcare team
• Contribute to patient database and interdisciplinary care plans
• Incorporate educational needs into patient care
• Administer prescribed medications
• Advocate for patient rights
• Provide psychosocial and cultural support
• Support performance improvement activities
• Assist in staff orientation and development
• Assign tasks as needed

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program
• Licensed as an LPN in Virginia
• Complete de-escalation training within four months of hire and maintain certification
• Demonstrate ability to interpret patient data
• Provide age-appropriate care in line with policies
