Job Title: Inpatient Coding Auditor Compensation Hourly Rate: $40 – $60 per hour Location: Remote Position Summary As an Inpatient Coding Auditor, you will support healthcare organizations by performing quality reviews of inpatient coding to ensure compliance, accuracy, and consistency. This role plays a critical part in maintaining coding integrity across complex hospital environments, including academic and trauma centers. You will collaborate with coding teams and providers to improve documentation and coding outcomes in a production-driven, quality-focused environment. Responsibilities Schedule / ShiftShift details: Flexible scheduleHours per week: 40Key Duties:Perform quality audits on inpatient coders to ensure compliance with coding guidelines and organizational policiesAssign and sequence ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, MS-DRG, APR-DRG, and CPT/HCPCS codes based on clinical documentationReview physician documentation for coding accuracy and appropriatenessProvide education and feedback to coders and providers as neededUtilize EMR systems, encoders, and computer-assisted coding (CAC) toolsMaintain high-quality standards in a remote, production-based environment Requirements Licenses & CertificationsRequired: Active AHIMA Certification Skills: Expert knowledge of inpatient coding guidelines and regulationsStrong auditing and analytical skillsProficiency with Excel and multiple EMR systemsAbility to work effectively in a remote, production-driven environment Additional Requirements: Minimum 5 years of experience as a facility inpatient auditorExperience auditing in Level I Trauma and/or major academic medical centersU.S.-based coding/auditing experienceExperience working remotely with strong attention to quality and accuracy Benefits (only For Temporary Roles) Per Diem / Temporary (Hourly) Roles Comprehensive benefits that include medical, dental, and vision Company-paid Basic Life/AD&D and Long-Term Disability for employees working 30+ hours/week Paid sick leave may be available based on hours worked and state laws Benefit offerings are subject to legal requirements, eligibility status, and work location Employees 21+ can participate in the 401(k) Savings Plan About Us RCM Healthcare Services works with professionals across schools, healthcare, and community-based settings nationwide.
