Role Overview
The Inpatient Registered Nurse (RN CAP 2) provides comprehensive, clinically competent care for dialysis patients, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. This role involves collaborating with the healthcare team, delegating tasks, and participating in decision-making, teaching, leadership, and quality improvement activities to enhance patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Perform patient assessments, monitor responses to treatment, and adjust care plans accordingly.
- Educate patients and families on treatment procedures and care needs.
- Administer medications, manage intradialytic transfusions, and respond to emergencies.
- Coordinate communication with healthcare providers and ensure continuity of care.
- Supervise and mentor new and current staff, serving as a resource and role model.
- Maintain compliance with policies, standards, and regulations.
- May assist in outpatient settings, provide specialized instructions, and serve as a Nurse in Charge after completing required training and experience.
Qualifications & Skills
- Current state licensure and CPR/BLS certification.
- Minimum of 2 years nephrology nursing experience, with preferred dialysis experience.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting and moving patients and equipment.
- Strong collaboration, communication, and leadership abilities.
