Inpatient Coder – HIM Coding – Full Time

About the role
In this role, you will perform complex diagnostic and procedural coding for inpatient coding. You will review and analyze the medical record to accurately assign the responsible attending physician and clinical service in accordance with guidelines. This is a Full Time, day shift position that requires weekend coverage.
Responsibilities
- Perform complex diagnostic and procedural coding for inpatient records.
- Review and analyze medical records to assign the responsible attending physician and clinical service.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- College-level courses or equivalent in anatomy and physiology, and medical terminology.
- Minimum of 3 years’ demonstrated complex diagnostic and procedural inpatient coding experience in a computerized/electronic environment.
- Documented evidence of advanced coursework in ICD-10 CM and ICD-10 PCS.
Qualifications
- CCS, RHIA, or RHIT certification (preferred).
- Experienced coding in a hospital setting is a plus.

Pay
Salary Range: $54.35 - $62.35 per hour.
Schedule
- Full Time, day shift.
- Weekend coverage required.
All roles require on-site presence, so employees should live within a commutable distance to NewYork-Presbyterian. NYP will not reimburse for travel expenses.
