HIM Inpatient Coder
100% remote opportunity. Eligible remote states: District of Columbia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia.
Responsibilities
- Follow established conventions and guidelines to code and abstract the medical records of inpatients.
- Group codes to determine diagnosis-related groupings (DRGs-CMS and/or APR).
- Review medical records to determine the physicians' diagnosis/procedures for the patient and assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes to those diagnoses/procedures.
Requirements
- Formal working knowledge equivalent to an Associate's degree (2 years of college).
- Requires knowledge of a specialized field.
Pay
Pay range: $22.22 to $39.12. Base pay is determined by a variety of factors including market range, candidate qualifications and experience, as well as internal peer equity.
