Inpatient APP (T2) - Structural Heart Service

About the role

The Structural Heart Service at BILH is seeking a full-time team member to provide comprehensive care to patients undergoing structural heart interventions, including TAVR, MitraClip, and other transcatheter therapies. This role involves coordinating and managing peri-procedural workflows, performing inpatient consultations, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Perform history and physical examinations, formulate care plans, order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests, and provide education to patients and their families.
• Act as an educator and serve as a clinical resource for staff through consultation, formal and informal education, review of literature, and participation in seminars and conferences.
• Coordinate the care of patients to provide safe, effective, efficient, and timely patient-centered care.
• Liaise between visiting nurses, clinical staff, and consult services.
• Consult with physicians or surgeons regarding the care of patients for more complex diagnoses.
• Document clinical encounters clearly, precisely, and in a timely manner.
• Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to determine the health needs of patients and families.
• Provide direct patient care and management for opioid patients.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Nursing, with a Master's degree preferred.
• License required: Nursing License, and Certificate 1 required: Basic Life Support.
• American Heart Association - Basic Life Support Certificate.
• Experience in a teaching hospital and specialty area expertise preferred.
• Experience in Pain Management preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience with computer systems required, including web-based applications and some Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or Access.
• Competencies in Written Communications, Oral Communications, Knowledge, Team Work, and Customer Service.
