Essential Job Duties
- Take guests' food and beverage orders, utilizing suggestive selling techniques.
- Input order into system and ensure transmission of food orders is verified by Kitchen.
- Retrieve all alcoholic beverage items from service bar/wine station and serve to guest.
- Serve food courses and beverage items to the guest according to established standards.
- Ensure that each guests has appropriate silverware for each course and glassware for beverages ordered.
- Clear each course, remove soiled wares from tables, transport to dishwashing area.
- Present guest checks and process payments according to established procedures.
- Anticipate guests’ needs, respond promptly and maintain positive guest relations at all times.
- Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction.
Additional Responsibilities
- Adhere to all self-banking, cash and guest check handling procedures, sales and tip reporting policies.
- Attend staff meetings, menu and wine tastings as scheduled.
- Satisfactorily complete menu, wine and standards tests.
Qualifications
- High school diploma.
- Previous serving experience in a full-service restaurant required.
- The ideal candidate will have had at least six (6) months of related restaurant experience in a fine dining/upscale setting, preferably in a multi-unit, luxury hotel/resort.
- Demonstrated commitment to delivering world class guest service and anticipating and exceeding guest expectations.
- Excellent guest relation and communications skills are a must; should be comfortable and able to offer warm, sincere, and gracious hospitality to guests.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to handle a variety of guest service situations in a manner consistent with Biltmore standards.
- Terrific attention to details.
- Ability to and comfort with using listening skills and suggestive selling techniques to help meet the dining needs of guests.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced, guest service environment.
- Must be able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to be proactive, exercise good judgment, and take initiative as appropriate.
- Should be able to creatively problem solve.
- Ability to be professional in both appearance and demeanor in accordance with Biltmore standards.
