Inkjet Field Specialist

About the role

Nazdar is seeking an Inkjet Field Specialist for our Technical Services department, based in Texas. The primary function of this role is to install, train, and repair graphic and textile inkjet equipment that Nazdar sells and supports. The secondary focus is to provide technical support to end users of this equipment via phone and computer.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, and train customers on the operation of graphic and textile inkjet equipment.
• Communicate effectively with Nazdar customers at facilities within the continental USA.
• Provide remote technical support via phone and computer when not on-site at printing facilities.
• Work with sales to identify new opportunities when equipment is outdated or inefficient.
• Occasionally set up, operate, and demonstrate inkjet printing equipment at trade shows.
• Travel to printing facilities in a company-provided vehicle (up to 75% of the time) and via commercial air travel (up to 25% of the time).
• Write detailed service reports documenting work completed, parts used, and equipment recommendations.
• Provide elevated phone support to customers on digital printing equipment, inks, media, software, and finishing processes.
• Perform duties according to pre-established safety, quality, and efficiency standard operating procedures.
• Report weekly activity summaries, field issues, direct report issues, and vendor support issues to management.
• Assist with other duties as directed by management.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Current valid driver’s license, subject to an annual Department of Motor Vehicles check.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, product literature, regulatory documents, equipment schematics, and service manuals.
• Ability to solve practical and complex problems within a limited time frame.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in computer graphics or graphic arts preferred but not required.
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in all aspects of inkjet printing, including wide/super wide, solvent, UV, and aqueous inks, graphic and textile applications, prepress color control, software file output, and color profiling.
• Hands-on experience with wide-format inkjet printers such as Roland, Mimaki, Mutoh, EFI, or similar equipment.
• Overall knowledge of art generation, inkjet printing, and finishing.
• Inkjet equipment certifications recommended.
• RIP software and color management certifications recommended.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word) and Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
• Operational knowledge of RIP software programs such as Versaworks, Wasatch, Caldera, EFI Fiery, or Onyx.
• Networking, internet capabilities, web access, and electronic file transferring skills.
• High mechanical aptitude and confidence in using tools.
• Ability to collaborate and work well with others to solve problems.
• Knowledge of media/ink profiling and how media affects color output.
• Understanding of electricity and varying requirements of printing equipment in different environments.
