Description

The Offset Ink Master is responsible for managing the Offset ink production and inventory for the Offset press. Essential duties and responsibilities include:

  • Blending ink for press to meet production schedule.
  • Producing color swatches for customer approval.
  • Maintaining and managing ink inventory and work-off ink blending.
  • Attending daily pre-production meetings for review of jobs for ink usage information.
  • Having daily interaction with internal and external customers.
  • Testing incoming materials and finished inks to set parameters.
  • Maintaining all records and producing monthly inventory and usage reports.
  • Explaining or presenting the Offset ink blending process to groups as needed.
  • Cross training with press personnel.
  • Ensuring the overall safety and cleanliness of equipment and area.
  • Working in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Performing overtime as required.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED minimum.
  • Minimum 4 years prior experience in Offset ink blending and/or Offset Lead pressperson.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers and participate in or lead customer discussions.
  • Good computer skills and proficiency in Excel and Word documents.
  • Ability to react quickly and make continuous adjustments to provide top quality products.
  • Normal vision required.
  • Excellent color skills and ability to pass the color blind test.
  • Good math skills required.
  • Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Able to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Able to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Able to undergo a drug screening after receiving a conditional job offer, but before starting employment.
