Position Summary
Responsible for onsite injury prevention, the specialist will use intervention strategies under OSHA guidelines for First Aid Care. These strategies aim to reduce signs and symptoms of injuries, thereby avoiding expensive work comp or health care claims and OSHA recordable incidents. The specialist will work 1:1 with employees, utilizing techniques such as soft tissue work, heat/ice, taping, education, and coaching in home and work tasks to reduce soreness or discomfort.
Core Job Functions
- Aids clinical team with patient registration, biometric and lab result documentation, document management, and mail processing.
- Performs fitness assessments, pulmonary function testing, hearing and vision screenings for contracted companies.
- Educates clients on fitness assessment and offsite screening results.
- Develops, adjusts, and documents exercise prescriptions based on fitness tests and recommendations from physicians.
- Tailors exercise plans and education to individual client needs.
- Provides explanations of expected and actual physiological responses to exercise and accurately records this information on appropriate forms.
