Injection Molding Utility Technician- A Shift

Location: 600 Vista Drive, Sparta, Tennessee 38583

Shift: 12-hour A Shift

Responsibilities

• Inspect and package in-process inventory and/or finished goods.
• Request supplies, boxes, etc. as needed to supply all Injection Molding lines.
• Perform line walks and refill color and resin where needed.
• Perform complete color changes by following all procedures.
• Assist in clean-up, shutdown, and start-up of all lines.
• Comply with good housekeeping and safety practices.
• Keep color area organized and consolidate colors when applicable.
• Coordinate with Injection Molding shift lead and/or Supervisor regarding color changes and color that will not return to the racks.
• Assist in relieving breaks for Packers when necessary.
• Operate a forklift for removal of scrap bins and/or gaylords during shift.
• Print labels and work orders for changeovers.
• Update the color change calculator at the beginning of shift.

Requirements

• Must be forklift certified or become certified within 30 days of starting the role.
• Must be able to read, understand, and follow written and verbal work instructions.
• Visual aptitude: must be able to see with or without correction and differentiate colors.
• Reasonable mandatory overtime may be required due to business needs.
• Ability to work well with others.
• Flexible to work any shift.
• Ability to work overtime or fill in for call-ins when necessary.
• Must be in good standing.
• Ability to use email and communicate effectively.
• Basic computer skills.

Work Environment

• Frequently exposed to fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration.
• Loud noise levels in the work environment.
• Exposure to seasonal weather conditions if required to go outdoors.
• Proper use of PPE is required at all times.

Physical Demands

• Ability to perform a standing job for 12 consecutive hours.
• Remain stationary for extended periods.
• Move around the production floor.
• Move, adjust, and position objects weighing 10 to 45 pounds.
• Identify, recognize, and assess documents and machinery.
• Must be able to walk, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, reach, and grasp for varying periods during a 12-hour shift.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous packer experience preferred.
