Responsibilities

• Perform efficient and safe mold changeovers, including pulling and setting molds, plumbing molds for correct water flow, cleaning granulators, setting up blenders, changing End-of-Arm Tooling (EOAT), loading robot programs, and inputting process parameters to ensure product conforms to the Quality Inspection Plan and is produced at a specified rate.
• Perform daily verification of established process parameters.
• Perform gate seal studies and check ring repeatability tests to ensure optimal process repeatability.
• Account for purge scrap by weighing and reporting daily.
• Troubleshoot auxiliary molding press equipment, including automation.
• Work closely with Engineering, Mold Shop, and Maintenance personnel to ensure molds and equipment are maintained in optimal operating condition.
• Perform or assist with material changeovers, when needed.
• Operate Motan material conveying system (answering alarms, cleaning filters, etc.), when needed.
• Operate molding machine (inspecting, packing parts, etc.) when needed.
• Complete required paperwork to report production, scrap, and press downtime.
• Maintain a high level of housekeeping in the manufacturing area.
• Sustain the mindset that safety is a value and an ethic guiding all actions.
• Promote civility and respect between all team members.
• Adhere to all company and department guidelines, procedures, and policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• HS diploma or GED required.
• Prior experience setting molds into injection molding machines is required.
• Understanding of scientific molding principles (or Decoupled Molding) is preferred.
• Working knowledge of robotics, material handling systems, and automation equipment is preferred.
• Ability to operate an injection molding machine.
• Ability to use measuring devices (calipers, micrometers, etc.) and interpret product blueprints.
• Basic computer skills.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize work.
• Ability to lift 55 lbs, pull/push molds using a pallet jack or mold cart, bend, twist, turn, and stand for prolonged periods.
• Proficiency in the English language.

Pay

Competitive base salary: $26–$29.69 per hour (subject to change dependent on physical location). Total compensation includes base salary, incentives, and benefits.
