Injection Mold Technician - 3rd Shift

About the role

Our Saline plant is seeking a 3rd shift Injection Mold Technician to set up, test, and perform preventative maintenance on injection molding machines.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all mold tools are properly set, safely removed from molding machines, and stored in their designated areas; troubleshoot minor issues.
  • Maintain auxiliary items, verify fast heat controllers function properly, and confirm mold setup positions and limits are correct after installation.
  • Adjust and document molding conditions (temperature, pressure, feed, times) to correct complex part-quality deficiencies.
  • Assist or perform setup of robotic automation to maximize product quality, machine uptime, and eliminate waste.
  • Change, service, and repair end-of-arm tools (EOATs) and load robot programs during mold changes.
  • Maintain daily records of tool changes and log pre-heats of mold tooling in applicable files/logs.
  • Complete the process tracking sheet for each running job per shift.
  • Coordinate daily priorities with Production Supervisor, Team Leader, and Central Load for press start-up, shutdown, and mold change priority; communicate daily issues to next-shift technicians.
  • Verify cycle times match recorded process sheets and ensure processes run within defined limits.
  • Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and aerial lifts as needed.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, safety rules, policies, procedure manuals, and operating instructions.
  • Basic mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
  • Basic computer skills, including PC knowledge and familiarity with current technology software.
  • Ability to use various tools and equipment (manual, electric, pneumatic, hydraulic).
  • Mechanical aptitude and knowledge of Lock Out/Tag Out processes.
  • Maintain a team-oriented environment that values individual differences and growth.

Qualifications

Preferred: 1 or more years of experience in industrial/injection mold repair, maintenance, and/or robotics.
