Infrastructure/Sr. Infrastructure Engineer

Responsibilities
- Build scalable infrastructure for government services
- Design, implement, and deliver services critical to millions of Americans
- Manage and enhance documentation using various engineering tools
- Maintain and integrate systems used by the client
- Complete work assigned by application teams
- Proactively identify and address blockers, risks, and issues
- Research and select new automation tools or frameworks
- Implement automation for cloud resources
- Document and communicate architecture and project updates
- Collaborate with stakeholders to incorporate their feedback
- Track and resolve stakeholders' technical tasks
- Identify and close gaps in project planning
- Ensure efficient hiring through subcontractors
- Escalate concerns to the program manager
- Build client trust by serving as a resource for questions and issues
- Perform code and technical reviews
- Facilitate meetings and establish engineering norms and practices
- Teach teammates time management and productivity
- Serve in the on-call rotation
- Facilitate post-mortems after incidents
- Respond to tickets or route them to the appropriate engineer
- Apply patches and updates to operating systems and libraries
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Infrastructure Engineer or mix of Software Engineering
- A Bachelor's Degree (or four years of experience in lieu of a degree)
- Experience managing different systems (Windows Server, Linux CLI) and automating repetitive tasks
- Experience training and mentoring engineers
- Scripting skills (Python, Go, JavaScript)
- Experience designing CI/CD and workflow automation
- Experience with cloud primitives (VPC, ACL, Route Tables, Security Groups, Images)
- Experience running asynchronous jobs (ECS, Lambda)
- Advanced ability to contribute and update existing code and Infrastructure as Code
- A thoughtful, adaptive, and collaborative mindset
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- An interest in and familiarity with cloud infrastructure, cloud architecture, IT service management, Unix/Linux, scripting, networking, or security
Qualifications
- Legal authorization to work in the United States
- Ability to meet any other requirements for government contracts for which candidates are hired
- Work authorization that doesn’t require visa sponsorship, now or in the future
- May be subject to a government background check or security clearance, depending on the contract
