The Ohio Department of Insurance (ODI) was established in 1872 to oversee insurance regulations, enforce statutes mandating consumer protections, educate consumers, and foster the stability of insurance markets in Ohio. Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and resolve IT issues across multiple divisions, including on-site deployment and issue resolution.
  • Diagnose, analyze, and communicate detailed information regarding technical issues to specialized teams.
  • Independently install, maintain, configure, upgrade, and administer hardware and software in support of end-user devices.
  • Interface with other platforms from both hardware and software perspectives.
  • Collaborate with the security team to maintain security compliance across all software and hardware assets.
  • Create, organize, and maintain documentation.

Primary Technology Focus: Desktop Support

Secondary Technology Areas: Enterprise Call Center Technology, Microsoft Operating Systems, Printer Support, System Monitoring and Control

Qualifications

36 months combined work experience in any combination of the following: installing, monitoring/maintaining, configuring, upgrading, and/or administering/operating a single technology domain, including 12 months work experience in the primary technology (Desktop Support) specified by the agency.

OR

Completion of an associate core program in computer science or information systems; 18 months combined work experience in any combination of the following: installing, monitoring/maintaining, configuring, upgrading, and/or administering/operating a single technology domain, including 12 months work experience in the primary technology (Desktop Support) specified by the agency.

OR

Completion of an undergraduate core program in computer science or information systems; 12 months combined work experience in any combination of the following: installing, monitoring/maintaining, configuring, upgrading, and/or administering/operating a single technology domain, including 12 months work experience in the primary technology (Desktop Support) specified by the agency.

OR

Equivalent of the minimum class qualifications for employment noted above.

This is a full-time, classified position with union representation (OCSEA).
