Infrastructure Product Manager
About the role
We are looking for an experienced Infrastructure Product Manager to lead strategy for our internal infrastructure teams. Our mission is to abstract the complexity of both public cloud providers (such as Azure) and on-prem deployments (Frontier AI Lab), enabling our developers to move faster, ship more reliably, and operate at a lower cost.
Responsibilities
- Drive Product Strategy: Own the roadmap for our internal services and platforms, including Core Compute (Kubernetes), Networking (Service Mesh/Istio), extensive in-house storage primitives (Postgres, Redis/Valkey, Kafka, CRDB, etc.), DevEx/Observab/Costs platforms, Data and ML platforms, Security Platform.
- Champion Developer Velocity: Reduce friction by building and maintaining best-in-class developer experiences, including monorepo build systems and automated release pipelines.
- Enforce Reliability: Define and implement reliability standards across our stack to ensure high uptime and system stability for groups operating on our infrastructure.
- Optimize for Efficiency: Build and manage tools for cost attribution and optimization to ensure our infrastructure scales efficiently with our business.
- Pioneer New Domains: Spearhead infrastructure initiatives for high-growth areas.
- Collaborate at Scale: Work closely with engineering leadership to align product development with long-term technical architecture.
Requirements
A strong preference for candidates with a background in engineering in the infrastructure space.
Scale Experience
Demonstrated success in product management at well-known, large-scale tech companies or high-growth infrastructure-focused startups.
Product Rigor
A background in translating technical requirements into high-impact features. Strong judgment in balancing roadmap ambitions with the operational health, stability, and maintainability of the platform.
Data-driven decision-making
Comfort with metrics such as SLOs, adoption, and cost efficiency, and a track record of using them to drive prioritization.
Bar Raiser Mentality
A desire to challenge the status quo, championing operational excellence, and pushing teams to innovate faster.
Communication across altitudes
The ability to go deep with engineers on architecture while also articulating the business value of infrastructure investments to executive stakeholders.
