Infrastructure Manager
Position Overview
The Manager of Infrastructure & Network Engineering is responsible for the strategy, design, implementation, and operation of the organization’s global IT infrastructure and network ecosystem. This role ensures secure, scalable, and high-performing platforms that enable business growth, operational efficiency, and digital transformation. This leader oversees data centers, cloud platforms, networks, end-user compute, and core infrastructure services while aligning with cybersecurity, enterprise architecture, and business priorities.
The role requires a balance of hands-on technical depth, strategic leadership, and operational excellence.
Success Expectations
Infrastructure & Network Strategy
- Define and execute a multi-year infrastructure and network roadmap aligned with business and IT strategy
- Lead modernization initiatives including cloud adoption (Azure), hybrid infrastructure, and network transformation (SD-WAN, SASE)
- Establish standards for scalability, redundancy, and performance across 16+ locations
- Drive simplification and technical debt reduction across legacy environments
Operations & Service Delivery
- Own uptime, performance, and reliability of:
- Data centers / server environments
- WAN/LAN, wireless, and edge networks
- Identity & access infrastructure
- Backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity
- Establish and manage SLAs, KPIs, and operational dashboards
- Lead incident response and root cause analysis for critical outages
Cybersecurity & Risk Management
- Partner with security leadership to ensure infrastructure is secure by design
- Drive:
- Network segmentation and Zero Trust architecture
- Endpoint detection and response (EDR) coverage
- Patch and vulnerability management compliance
- Support audits (SOC 1, SOC 2, ITGC) and regulatory requirements
- Ensure resilience through immutable backups, DR testing, and RTO/RPO alignment
Cloud & Platform Engineering
- Lead enterprise cloud strategy (primarily Microsoft Azure) including:
- Compute, storage, networking, and identity integration
- Cost optimization and FinOps discipline
- Oversee integration with enterprise platforms such as:
- ERP (e.g., Oracle Cloud Fusion)
- Data platforms (Power BI, Fabric, Data Warehouse)
- Drive automation through Infrastructure-as-Code and DevOps practices
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead and develop a team of infrastructure and network engineers
- Build a high-performance culture focused on accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement
- Define organizational structure, roles, and career paths
- Manage vendor partners, MSPs, and strategic service providers
Financial & Vendor Management
- Own infrastructure budget (CapEx and OpEx), typically $3M–$10M+
- Drive cost optimization through:
- Cloud governance
- Vendor consolidation
- Lifecycle management
- Lead contract negotiations and vendor performance reviews
Project & Program Leadership
- Lead infrastructure workstreams for:
- ERP implementations
- M&A integrations
- Facility expansions and new site deployments
- Ensure delivery through structured governance (ITIL, CAB, change management)
- Partner with PMO and business leaders to align priorities

Education & Experience
- 10–15+ years in IT infrastructure/network engineering
- 5+ years in leadership roles (Manager, Sr. Manager, or Director level)
- Experience supporting multi-site manufacturing or distributed operations
- Proven track record leading large-scale transformations (cloud, ERP, network)
- Deep knowledge of:
- Enterprise networking (routing, switching, firewalls, SD-WAN)
- Cloud platforms (Azure preferred)
- Data center and hybrid infrastructure
- Identity & access management (Azure AD / Entra ID)
- Backup & disaster recovery strategies
- Familiarity with:
- Cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, CIS)
- Monitoring and observability tools
- Automation and scripting (PowerShell, Terraform, etc.)
Leadership & Business Skills
- Strong executive communication and stakeholder management
- Ability to translate technical strategy into business outcomes (uptime, cost, growth)
- Experience managing budgets, vendors, and cross-functional teams
- Data-driven decision making using operational metrics

- 99.9%+ infrastructure uptime across all locations
- Reduction in critical vulnerabilities and patch SLA breaches

Preferred Certifications
- Azure Solutions Architect / Azure Administrator
- Cisco (CCNP/CCIE)
- CISSP or security-related certification
- ITIL Certification
