About the role

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. This role is part of the Infrastructure Global Expansion team, responsible for our strategy for data center expansion for edge infrastructure. You will develop the strategy for growth in key locations for interconnect capacity, including business partnerships and technical approaches to improve resiliency, scalability, cost, and performance.

Responsibilities

  • Set the future strategies and roadmap for the team across new products.
  • Identify priority locations to re-architect existing infrastructure approaches.
  • Manage cross-functional input to inform potential partnerships and build solutions.
  • Develop plans of record for scaling and growing infrastructure in different metro areas.
  • Set schedules for infrastructure migrations and re-designs.
  • Work with external customers to identify requirements and prospective partnerships to enable new infrastructure launches.
  • Improve cost structures for preferred infrastructure architecture.
  • Evolve routing policy, implement traffic engineering solutions, and grow our peering footprint.
  • Secure the “front door” from bad actors on the Internet and architect hardware platforms and network designs.
  • Work with partner teams to improve and automate internet connectivity in areas such as capacity delivery, configuration deployment, impairment detection, and traffic optimization.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of best practices and emerging technologies related to infrastructure (network, data center, hardware, software).
  • 3+ years of technical infrastructure management experience.
  • Experience with varying scenarios of infrastructure builds.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree or above in management, business administration, economics, engineering, or marketing.

Our team provides high-performing internet connectivity for use cases such as retail (amazon.com), video streaming (Prime Video), content delivery (CloudFront), DNS (Route53), AWS services (EC2/S3), and consumer devices (FireTV/Kindle/Echo).

Pay

Base salary ranges:

  • Denver, CO: $127,100 - $171,900 USD annually
  • Arlington, VA: $127,100 - $171,900 USD annually
  • Seattle, WA: $127,100 - $171,900 USD annually

Your package will include sign-on payments, restricted stock units (RSUs), and comprehensive benefits such as health insurance, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and location.
