Information Technology Specialist 2
Description
Perform technical activities related to support and management of customer endpoint equipment including desktops, laptops, tablets, mobile devices, printers, peripheral equipment, and related technologies. Provide customer support for endpoint hardware, operating systems, software, database connectivity, network, security, and mobile device technologies. Responsible for answering customer support inquiries received via telephone, email, ticketing systems, and in person. Record customer interactions in a ticketing system and work to resolve issues as assigned.
Installation, configuration, testing, deployment, maintenance, and support of customer endpoint equipment and software. Provide ongoing customer support through customer-facing documentation, technical documentation, training, and assistance with computer and mobile device related needs. Assist with the selection, installation, configuration, testing, and maintenance of enterprise-level systems used to manage customer interactions, endpoint devices, mobile devices, software deployment, security, hardware and software inventory, and asset lifecycle management.
Adhere to standards, policies, and best practices.
Qualifications
- Minimum Qualifications: TRANSFER QUALIFICATIONS FOR CURRENT STATE EMPLOYEES: Current New York State employee with one year or more of qualifying permanent service allocated to a Grade 16 or above and eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 and/or Section 52.6 of the NYS Civil Service Law. NY HELPS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A bachelor's or higher-level degree including or supplemented by 15 semester credit hours in computer science; OR a bachelor's or higher-level degree in any field and one year of experience in information technology; OR 60 semester credit hours including or supplemented by 15 semester credit hours in computer science AND one year of professional experience in information technology; OR two years of professional experience in information technology.

- Additional Comments: This is a Unit 2, CSEA position.
