About the role
This position provides campus‑wide (PGH & VCBR) management for the Information Technology and Security Systems Department, overseeing staff and budget, and directing IT security, access control, software application development, telecommunications, technology procurement, and overall systems management. It supports data and video networks, managed print services, confidential digital data storage, and electronic security equipment, acts as liaison with VITA/SAIC, leads EHR implementation, manages IT‑related renovation and construction projects, monitors staff output, and completes annual IT strategic and emergency plans for both facilities. The role is mission‑critical and requires strategic thinking, strong organizational skills, and the ability to anticipate agency‑wide policy implications and translate them into technology solutions.
Responsibilities
- Manage IT and Security Systems staff and budget
- Provide direction for IT Security, access control, software application development, telecommunications services, procuring technology related equipment, and overall systems management
- Support and manage data and video networks, managed print services, storage of confidential digital data, and all electronic security equipment
- Act as liaison with VITA/SAIC to ensure proper service per contract
- Provide leadership and direction for implementation of Electronic Health Record (EHR) for PGH and VCBR
- Manage various IT projects involving renovation and construction
