About the role
This position will serve as a business analyst with the Department of Technology, Management, and Budget (DTMB) Agency Services supporting the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT).
Responsibilities
- Analyzing complex business processes
- Developing detailed business process flows
- Gathering and managing business requirements
- Facilitating requirements gathering sessions
- Trace and validate requirements
- Aiding in system user acceptance testing
- User documentation creation
- Participating in pre- and post-system implementation support as needed
Requirements
- Education: Possession of a bachelor's degree with 21 semester (32 term) credits in one or a combination of the following: computer science, data processing, computer information systems, data communications, networking, systems analysis, computer programming, information assurance, IT project management or mathematics.
- Experience: No specific type or amount is required.
- Alternate Education and Experience: Possession of an associate's degree with 16 semester (24 term) credits in computer science, data processing, computer information, data communications, networking, systems analysis, computer programming, information assurance, IT project management or mathematics and two years of experience as an application programmer, computer operator, or information technology technician; or two years (4160 hours) of experience as an Information Technology Student Assistant may be substituted for the education requirement.

Schedule
This position may work a hybrid (remote/office) schedule with 2 days required in the office per week. Selected candidates who have been approved to work a hybrid schedule must complete that work within Michigan. Candidates should confirm work location and schedule at the time of interview.
Signing Bonus
This position may be eligible for a sign-on bonus up to $2,500. Up to $1,250 to be paid upon new hire and the remainder to be paid after satisfactory completion of the initial probationary period (12-month period). This does not apply to current state employees.
