Information Technology Manager I

About the Role

The Information Technology Manager I (ITM I) plans, organizes, directs, and controls the activities of the Technical Assistance Center (TAC) Regional Support Section (RSS) within the Enterprise Operations Support Branch (EOSB). This role manages a team of technical specialists to design, develop, implement, and support a complex office automation network for the Department of Justice (DOJ) staff statewide. The TAC (Regional) team is distributed across multiple locations, including San Francisco, Oakland, Fresno, Los Angeles, and San Diego.

The primary responsibility is day-to-day support of DOJ staff via TAC. RSS oversees the development, coordination, deployment, and support of standard software for DOJ’s personal computers (PCs), wireless systems, and mobile devices statewide. The branch also coordinates, tests, and deploys software patches, upgrades, and applications used by DOJ staff. The manager defines strategies for supporting DOJ staff’s PC computing and evaluates new technologies for implementation.

Responsibilities

• Manage and direct the activities of the Technical Assistance Center (TAC) Regional Support Section (RSS).
• Oversee a team of technical specialists in designing, developing, implementing, and supporting a statewide office automation network.
• Provide day-to-day technical support to DOJ staff through TAC.
• Coordinate the development, deployment, and support of standard software for DOJ’s PCs, wireless systems, and mobile devices.
• Manage the testing, coordination, and deployment of software patches, upgrades, and applications for DOJ systems.
• Define strategies for PC computing support and analyze, review, and implement new technologies for DOJ staff.

Pay

Salary range: $9,387.00 - $12,579.00 per month. New state employees will be hired at the minimum salary of the classification or the minimum of the alternate range, if applicable.

Effective July 1, 2025, state employees are subject to temporary wage reductions in exchange for Personal Leave Program (PLP) accruals. The impact varies by bargaining unit.
