About the role
The County of Solano, CA seeks an experienced Principal Unified Communications Engineer to lead enterprise communications strategy, cloud communications adoption, contact center modernization, collaboration technologies, and vendor-delivered communications solutions.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a trusted advisor across Countywide communications initiatives, ensuring platforms are secure, resilient, scalable, cost-effective, and aligned with organizational goals.
- Guide the implementation and optimization of Cisco Unified Communications, cloud calling, contact center technologies, and collaboration platforms.
- Evaluate and recommend modernization efforts in networking, communications security, and other relevant areas.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and implement solutions that enhance communication efficiency and support organizational objectives.
- Lead technical projects and initiatives, providing expert guidance and problem-solving skills.
Requirements
- Deep experience with Cisco Unified Communications, cloud calling, contact center technologies, collaboration platforms, communications security, networking, and modernization efforts.
- Proven ability to lead complex technical projects and provide strategic direction.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on technology-driven solutions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and priorities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in unified communications, cloud communications, contact center technologies, or related fields.
- Experience with Cisco Unified Communications, cloud calling, contact center technologies, and collaboration platforms.
- Knowledge of communications security, networking, and modernization efforts.
